Privacy Policy

How CompressVideo protects your privacy while compressing videos locally in your browser.

Last updated: July 31, 2026

Local video processing

CompressVideo runs video compression in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. Your selected video file is not uploaded to our servers by the browser-local compressor.

The compressed output is created on your device and downloaded directly from your browser.

Information we receive

We do not receive, store, or inspect the videos you choose for local compression.

Like most websites, hosting providers may process basic request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Analytics and cookies

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site use, such as page visits and anonymized compressor actions. We do not send video files, file names, or video contents to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics may set analytics cookies and process information such as device, browser, approximate location, and usage information according to Google's policies. You can reject analytics in the consent prompt; if you accept, you can withdraw that choice by clearing this site's local storage and choosing Reject when prompted again.
